Funny things about this picture:

2. I opened this while I was in my class…. procrastinating.
Celebrating my recent acceptance into the BFA for Photography with some chocholate wine in, yes, that is my bat wine glass and there’s text that says gone batty! Perfect for me don’t you think?
So now I am off to reading Mockingjay - the third and final installment of The Hunger Games for those of you who don’t know. SOOO GOOD!
The letter I was sent, saying that I was officially accepted into the BFA program!
Still beyond excited about this. I can’t even think straight at the moment!
Did that really just happen?
It’s official, I AM IN THE BFA PROGRAM!!!
Officially on my way to becoming the artist that I always wanted to be.
I cannot believe this right now. I legitimately was shaking and crying reading my letter 20 times, because I was in utter disbelief.
There will be more to come… it’s just 2am and I have class at 9:30 tomorrow morning.

Monday, March 12, 2012 I finally turned in my porfolio for the BFA application, and yet again, I play the waiting game. Talk about freaking out right now. I find out anytime between today and Monday…. so my nerves just hit me that anytime I check my mailbox I will figure out what’s going to go down in the last years of my time here at CMU.
So yeah… needless to say I am freaking out right now.

My Drawing II second project!!
We had to do something about human issues, and I chose adoption of older children.
In the US, many adoptions begin when a child is first born. However, there are also so many children that grow up without families. I’m not saying anything is bad about adopting babies, even babies from other countries. I think it’s amazing when families are able to give homes to children. I even have a sorority sister that was adopted from Korea when she was a baby. I was just addressing the issue that more people should also adopt older children. I know that adopting older children is a pretty difficult process, and that sometimes cannot be done. But it’s the thought that counts right?
So with that little disclaimer, my project.
Photo 1: What do you think of when you think adoption?
Most of the time a picture like this pops into your head; a mom, dad, and little baby. Most of the time all you know about this subject is what is on the surface.(Which explains the lack of detail in the image.)
Photo 2: When you think of adoption, the thought of older children doesn’t cross your mind until later. It is a real issue, and this is why I made the portrait of the teen more detailed and as close to realistic as I could.
So yeah, that’s my project. Sorry for putting up post after post. I just got really excited! :D Let me know what you think of it! (Constructive criticism is nice, let me know what I could have done better! But please, if you don’t like it… you don’t have to say anything.)
